Well, it's hard to believe that the studio has been closed since the middle of March! I remember the day I closed the doors for what I believed was a 14-day lockdown. It felt so scary, but "manageable". Two weeks passed quickly, but still no news on when I could reopen. Then the projected reopening day became May 15th. But May came and went along with the rest of the summer! Then finally, September 3rd I got the news! Get your COVID-19 test because it's time to go! Results are in - I'm COVID-19 free and so, here we go!
As the air gets cooler, and the leaves begin to change colors in the way that mesmerizes everyone living in the Hudson Valley, I am mesmerized by the overwhelming "welcome backs" I have received upon announcing the opening of the studio this week. I'm humbled and grateful. It's been really good to get back to work doing what I love to do! I am looking forward to seeing each and every one of you, and I so appreciate everyone's support and patience as we go through this process together. This year has tested us with all of its challenges, and has taken its toll on our minds and bodies (and skin!). But the Fall season in New York has always been a blessed reminder --hot times end. Beauty happens, even in the midst of change. Nature can always amaze us. And the power of letting go! No matter what is happening on TV, in your smartphone, on Twitter or Instagram, or Facebook, the leaves will change colors. They will fall to the ground. Days will get shorter. Warm blankets and sweaters and boots will come out of hiding. There will be more snuggles on the couch, and more goodies baking in the kitchen. There will be pots of cheerful mums and pumpkins smiling from front steps. So let's just enjoy the beauty right now. The cool air in the mornings; the warm breezes in the afternoon; the bonfires with friends; a good hot cup of cocoa. Mask or no mask. It's something you cannot "lockdown".
